A document, not a ledger
Freelancers and small teams usually need one document rather than a bookkeeping system. Most of the friction in getting paid is clerical: the client wants a specific reference, tax has to appear as its own line at a specific rate, the currency has to match the contract, and the total has to survive scrutiny. Everything recalculates in front of you, so a wrong total is visible before the invoice goes out instead of after.
Nothing is uploaded -- the document is assembled in your browser, and the JSON export exists so next month's invoice does not have to be retyped. Because there is no account there is also no chasing, no payment collection and no tax filing: this produces the document, and your bank or accountant does the rest.
How to choose a Business tool
Pick the document by what you are asking the client to do.
An invoice, carrying your payment terms and a reference the client can quote back.
A quote. Same line items, no payment obligation attached.
A receipt, which is the record their bookkeeper will ask you for.
